Great emergency radio! Reviews Midland XT511 GMRS Two-Way Emergency Crank Radio

I will soon get licensed just to be legal, but I actually bought this Midland XT511 GMRS Two-Way Emergency Crank Radio for emergencies. I don't think they would chunk you away or fine you when a crisis is going on, a real crisis. But I have enjoyed listening so much, it has peeked my interest in other gmrs radios and might have found a new hobby.
BUY Amazon.com: Midland XT511 GMRS Two-Way Emergency Crank Radio:
I have been able to use this radio several times and enjoy the strong sound the small speaker can produce. The signal strength comes through very well.  I really like the radio. I have not tested for distance, but around the block it works well. I use it to talk to the grandkids as they ride their bikes.
  • Emergency radio with 22 GMRS/FRS channels and all 10 NOAA weather channels with alert function
  • Includes AM/FM radio reception, a clock with an alarm function, and a 3-LED flashlight
  • Features VOX automatic voice-activated operation, and a USB port for charging cell phones, radios, etc.
  • Rechargeable battery can be powered by dynamo hand crank, or included AC or DC power adapters
  • Constructed to be water resistant, and backed by a manufacturer's 3-year warranty
AM/FM - These are not Bose speakers, but they are clear. It works just like portable battery powered radios.  Multiple power source - Can run on Alkaline, included Rechargeable battery pack, AC socket, DC through the cigarette lighter, or just cranking to recharge the batteries. With all those sources of energy, you will never run out of power.

5 Watt GMRS Radio - It truly is powerful. Just as strong as my professional radios. Excellent as a base station when traveling or trying to look for help in an emergency. LED flashlight - You will never be in the dark. I have tried leaving it on the whole night and it still had have charge. I just used the crank to fully charge it again.

GMRS, transmits great, receives great! only tested it out over a couple miles so far. But man over all this is a fine emergency radio, I have 4 Rechargeable AA energizer 2500 MAH batteries and currently running it on the Rechargeable side to run it out and test out the dynamo crank. Oh and hey it can also charge your freaking cell phone through the USB port!

Midland XT511 GMRS Two-Way Emergency Crank Radio does everything it says it can do, and does it very well. If you were caught after an earthquake, this is the equipment you will need to have with you. It delivers what it promises, and is better than the other Midland Walkie talkies.
